Job Summary

The Software Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end software packaging, testing, deployment, and migration of applications across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience in application packaging and enterprise deployment tools, a strong understanding of Windows environments, and the ability to coordinate and execute deployment strategies across multiple teams and locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key technical resource for enterprise software deployment projects.
  • Convert packaging from RADIA to Microsoft Intune as part of the modernization initiative.
  • Review and approve installation and packaging documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional IT teams and vendors to implement rollout strategies for new and updated software.
  • Maintain and update detailed project plans, schedules, timelines, and deployment strategies.
  • Support deployment for both retail and backstage (back-office) environments.
  • Define detailed deployment timelines (daily/hourly where necessary) and track execution.
  • Conduct risk analysis and mitigation planning for deployment cycles.
  • Maintain deployment documentation including release notes, installation instructions, and support documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for release content and rollout-related inquiries.
  • Manage day-to-day deployment activities including incident (INC) and RITM requests.
  • Participate in peer reviews, preproduction testing, and quality assurance checks.
  • Ensure compliance with security and IT governance policies throughout packaging and deployment.
  • Provide customer-facing support and coordinate with helpdesk or support staff as needed.
  • Create and deliver documentation, training, and knowledge transfer materials as needed.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in:

-Software Packaging and Deployment

-Working with tools like Intune, SCCM, Flexera AdminStudio, and RADIA

-Writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts

  • Strong knowledge of:

-Windows OS (including registry, file systems, and folder structure)

-Group Policy (GPO)

-Active Directory (AD), Hybrid Azure AD, and Azure AD

  • Familiarity with remote software development/deployment environments
  • Project coordination and scheduling experience using tools like Microsoft Project or Visio
  • Working knowledge of ITSM tools, especially ServiceNow
  • Prior experience working within Agile, SDLC, or other structured project methodologies
