Sign-on bonuses: $15K for eligible new hires with over 1 year of experience; $10K for those with less than 1 year of experience.
Responsibilities of the Senior Sonographer:- Performs routine and complex ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for ultrasound imaging procedures, abstracts data from patient charts, and determines the appropriateness of procedures based on diagnosis and clinical signs.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify normal and pathological anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and families' physical and emotional status, and develops plans to meet their specific needs.
- Follows Quality Control/Data Integrity workflows.
- Practices High Reliability Communication techniques to enhance patient, family, and team relations.
- Responds to the clinical conditions of the patient, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
- Ensures equipment functionality by identifying and reporting malfunctions.
- Assists with patient scheduling and facilitates efficient workflow within the ultrasound area.
- Resolves technical and scheduling issues and performs quality assurance functions.
- Provides instruction to trainees and fellows on ultrasound procedures.
- Serves as a resource for information and assistance.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes documentation accurately and timely, and complies with hospital policies and core values.
- Engages in professional development and research activities related to ultrasound.
- Registered by the ARDMS.
- Must maintain ARDMS certification and registration.
- BLS certification required.
- Associates degree in Medical Sonography.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sonographer.
