Job Description:

The Accountant will be responsible for general accounting operations and verifying our financial transactions. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end closing procedures. The candidate must have excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable on a daily basis.
  • Preparing sales invoices and following up with collections.
  • Deep checking of financial transactions and documents.
  • Maintaining a proper filing system for accounting documents.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing reports.
  • Cooperating with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Computing taxes and preparing tax returns (VAT & Income).
  • Assisting with tax audits and tax returns filing within time.
  • Producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results.
  • Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS & IAS principles.

Job Requirements:

  • MS Degree in Accounting.
  • Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA, CMA, or CPA) is an added value.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with emphasis on Philippine experience.
  • Proven experience as an accountant in Engineering Practice is a must.
  • Understanding of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and (IFRS), Philippine GAAP.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages ERP, especially Deltek.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Strong knowledge of social security rules, regulations, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with BIR, Withholding, and other tax regulations.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
