Multimedia Designer (Print Production, Packaging & Motion)
Multimedia Designer (Print Production, Packaging & Motion)
Shortlisted candidates may be hired by October 22.
Be the production partner who turns creative direction into print-ready files, packaging, motion and polished content, so a fast-moving brand can ship faster.
This role is perfect for designers who love craft, experiment on their own, and want to see their work become real products.
Ally helps founders and leaders scale themselves before they scale their companies.
We match Executive Partners and specialists with e-commerce and creative businesses, combining human judgment with modern AI tools.
This role puts you inside a client's creative team, close to the work and the decisions behind it.
The Role
You'll be the hands-on production designer for a growing consumer brand. Creative direction is set by the brand's creative lead. Your job is to execute it beautifully and make sure real-world output (packaging, print, product and digital content) is correct, on time and vendor-ready.
Right now, print-ready production sits with one person, so projects queue up behind them. You'll clear that bottleneck.
This is a production role, not a creative direction role. You'll take briefs from the team, block your own time for focused work, and deliver files others can use without chasing you. Shortlisted finalists will complete a short paid creative trial before any offer.
What You'll Do
Produce print-ready files for packaging, product, flyers and postcards: correct dimensions, bleed, CMYK, outlined fonts, and clear notes for vendors
Design graphics and short-form motion and video for campaigns and social, using Canva, CapCut and the Adobe suite
Check and polish existing 3D product files in Blender (not modelling from scratch) and render them
Build mood boards and organize templates into a kit anyone on the team can use
Use AI tools with good art direction taste to speed up concepts and content
Keep editable files, folders and handoff notes tidy so others can pick up your work
By Day 20: Into the branding system, started on an existing project, and producing monthly mood boards
By Day 30: Looped into merch and small design projects, with Canva templates organized into a social branding kit
By Day 90: Running your own agenda, owning a library of polished content, and supporting e-commerce banners
What We're Looking For
Real-world print and production file experience (product, packaging, print)
Graphic design and basic motion skills, with a working level in Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom
Expert-level Canva and CapCut-level video editing
Working knowledge of Blender for checking, fixing and rendering existing 3D files
An editorial eye: magazine spreads, attitude over product-first, and a love of photography
Strong AI fluency with good art direction taste, ideally trained as a designer first
E-commerce content experience (freelance is a plus, since it shows you can carry volume)
A portfolio showing a body of work you're proud of. Client, personal or school projects all count.
Self-motivated, genuinely passionate about the craft, and experimenting on your own. Early-career talent is welcome.
Clear English, comfort with async communication, and the ability to take feedback and turn around revisions
Merch, apparel or product background, studio filming experience, or Mandarin for working with vendors (all a plus)
What You'll Get
USD 1,400-1,700/month, depending on experience
Fully remote, long-term engagement
Hong Kong hours (9am-6pm), with occasional weekend flexibility
Direct feedback from the creative lead
Grow through ownership of the asset library and projects as your work proves out
Build skills that compound: production, packaging, motion and AI-assisted design
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a screening questionnaire by invitation only, including a short video introduction (2-3 minute Loom) and a portfolio link.
If you love turning great design into real, beautifully produced things, this is your next step.
Your application will include the following questions:
