We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage financial transactions and ensure compliance with both Australian bookkeeping standards and Philippines government regulations. This role involves overseeing accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records in Xero, preparing reports, and ensuring timely and correct filing of mandatory reports to local regulatory bodies in the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

Australian Bookkeeping & Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Xero, including an understanding of GST treatment and Business Activity Statements (BAS).

  • Implement and review bookkeeping policies and procedures, including a structured chart of accounts.

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage financial transactions such as transfers, withdrawals, and deposits.

  • Prepare annual financial reports and tax returns for companies and trusts.

  • Generate monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.

  • Understand and manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) Returns.

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely, accurate transactions.

  • Resolve any invoicing or payment discrepancies.

Payroll & Budgeting:

  • Process employee timesheets and payroll calculations using Xero or designated HR platforms.

  • Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) lodgments and finalizations.

  • Ensure accurate payroll disbursements, including superannuation processing via Xero.

  • Collaborate in preparing budgets and cash flow forecasts with management.

Philippine Government Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other local regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and file tax returns, income tax filings, and corporate financial statements within deadlines.

  • Complete accurate end-of-month closing procedures.

  • Manage employee deductions and payments for Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG via their respective online portals, ensuring timely processing of deductions and payments.

  • Oversee employee loans and ensure correct deductions on payslips.

  • Maintain business registration and compliance documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead a team of junior bookkeepers and CPA students, fostering professional growth and efficiency.

  • Work closely with an Australian CPA for mentorship and quality assurance.

  • Maintain historical financial records for auditing and compliance purposes.

Requirements:

  • Xero Certified Advisor Certificate (mandatory).

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) registration in the Philippines.

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working for an Australian company.

  • Proven expertise in financial transaction management and accounting software.

  • Willingness to work onsite at our office in BGC, Taguig City.
