Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Staff4Me. In this role, you will support our senior engineers in building and maintaining robust infrastructure and automating processes. You will also assist in developing and deploying web applications and APIs.

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Automation: Assist in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure using automation tools like Ansible.
  • Application Development: Collaborate with the development team to deploy and maintain web applications using PHP and Python.
  • API Development: Support the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful APIs for seamless integration.
  • System Monitoring and Logging: Assist in setting up and managing monitoring systems like the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders for smooth integration and deployment of software updates.
  • Security and Compliance: Assist in implementing security best practices, conducting security scans, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for systems, applications, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications
  • Good understanding of REST APIs and JSON, and demonstrated experience using Postman.
  • Familiar with Excel for importing, exporting and manipulating data.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as switches, access points, and VLANs.
  • Basic experience interacting with virtual machines and ESXi.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with programming languages like PHP and Python.
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure automation tools like Ansible.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems like the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in their development and consumption.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
