The Cost and Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cost analysis, inventory control, and financial reporting related to food and beverage operations. This role ensures that all costing and inventory processes are optimized to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement cost control strategies to improve profitability.
  2. Analyze product costing, production expenses, and operational efficiencies.
  3. Conduct variance analysis to identify cost fluctuations and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  5. Ensure accurate standard costing and monitor deviations from actual costs.

Inventory Control & Management:

  1. Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
  2. Monitor inventory movement, reconcile discrepancies, and minimize wastage and losses.
  3. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  4. Develop inventory tracking systems and reporting tools to improve stock visibility.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices in inventory control.

Financial & System Reporting:

  1. Utilize Business Central or similar ERP systems to generate accurate cost and inventory reports.
  2. Leverage Excel (heavy user) to perform financial analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
  3. Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to align inventory valuation with financial reporting.
  4. Prepare reports and present key findings to senior management.
  5. Liaise with purchasing, warehouse, production, and finance teams to streamline workflows.
  6. Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost control and inventory efficiency.
  7. Implement automation and digital tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.

Non-Negotiable Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of experience in cost and inventory management, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
  2. Advanced proficiency in Excel (ability to handle complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data modeling).
  3. Highly skilled in system usage, preferably Business Central or similar ERP platforms.
  4. Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  6. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
