About the Role/Project

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP Authorization Consultant to join our dynamic SAP Security and Authorization team. This individual will play a key role in managing SAP user roles, authorizations, and security policies across various SAP systems, ensuring that the organization's SAP environment is secure, efficient, and compliant. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in SAP security, including role design, authorization management, and troubleshooting in a large and complex SAP landscape.

Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of extensive experience in SAP Authorization and Security, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience providing application support for SAP security and authorization, including troubleshooting, role management, system maintenance, and post-go-live support.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP security concepts, including user roles, profiles, authorization objects.
  • Proven success in delivering at least two (2) full-cycle SAP security implementations, from solution design through to post-implementation support, ensuring security policies align with client business objectives.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud security implementation is a significant advantage.
  • Expertise in optimizing and troubleshooting SAP security configurations to ensure smooth system performance, security compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor more junior consultants, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to drive SAP security initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to resolve complex technical and security challenges within SAP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to client engagement, ensuring clear and effective security-related communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • SAP Certification is highly preferred and regarded as a significant asset for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

SAP Support and Optimization

  • Work with change managers and/or process owners to understand the needs defined in the RFC documentation and provide solutions based on the function of the requirement.
  • Perform SAP Role Management (Creation and/or modification of PFCG Roles) that encapsulates the necessary permissions for specific tasks or business processes which involve assigning transaction codes, Fiori custom catalogs and spaces, authorization objects, and organizational data access.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and replicate missing authorizations for Fiori applications.
  • Create/update role specifications (DMS) based on the requirement defined during the role design or definition.
  • Update authorization object default set-ups via SU24.
  • Update roles via PFCG based on the business requirement and monitor role profile generation in the Production system.
  • Update role specification documents (DMS) via CV04N based on the changes made on the roles.
  • Set-up test IDs and test sets during SIT and UAT phases and incident investigations.
  • Provide cut-over support by ensuring all necessary preparations are complete and ready prior to the cut-over.
  • Provide hyper-care support by addressing immediate troubleshooting and applying corrections to fix the issues.
  • Perform monitoring by keeping a close watch on system performance and user feedback.
  • SAP Security Administration in HANA Studio (User and Privilege Administration and Role Creation): Perform role creation via Live Editor and administer user tracing and privilege analysis.
  • BW Authorizations Support – investigate and troubleshoot missing access to reports/queries and calculation views from HANA Database side.

SAP Implementation Project

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of SAP Authorization solutions in S/4HANA, handling system configuration, testing, deployment, and final delivery, ensuring smooth integration into the client's SAP environment.
  • Configure SAP security modules to meet business and compliance needs, optimizing user roles, access control, and authorization settings.
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to align project timelines, deliverables, and security requirements, ensuring successful implementation while addressing risks and challenges.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for end-users and SAP security admins, helping them manage user roles and security settings in the new SAP system.
  • Provide expert guidance on SAP Authorization features and best practices to align security configurations with business goals and maintain compliance.
  • Help clients improve and optimize their SAP authorization processes, ensuring secure access to data and enhancing system performance.
  • Provide ongoing post-implementation support, troubleshooting authorization issues, and ensuring system performance with timely updates.
