Role Purpose
Mister Mobile sells new and used mobile devices, trade-ins and repair services through retail stores, our own website and all major marketplaces. Marketing and e-commerce are currently two separate teams that serve the same customer and the same P&L.
This role brings them under one manager. You own both functions — the marketing team driving brand, content, social and demand, and the e-commerce team driving listings, pricing, marketplace performance and online revenue. Your job is to make those two halves work as one: campaigns that land with stock and pricing ready behind them, and an online channel that converts the demand marketing creates.
The Marketing Director sets direction and owns the overall strategy; you turn it into plans, allocate the people and budget, hold the standard, and report on what worked.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership
Lead both functions through their respective team leads — set objectives, review plans, and hold them accountable for their teams' output.
Develop your leads into people who can run their areas without you. Give them room to make decisions and own outcomes, rather than managing their teams around them.
Arbitrate between the two functions when they compete for the same people, budget or calendar slot — this is the part of the job only you can do.
Run the operating rhythm: weekly priorities, monthly performance reviews, quarterly planning across both teams.
Own performance management for your direct reports, and set the standard for how reviews and goal-setting are run further down.
Recruit, onboard and retain — own hiring for senior roles alongside the Director, and approve hires below that.
Manage a partly remote structure: maintain accountability, communication standards and output quality without being in the same room.
2. Marketing
Translate the annual marketing direction into quarterly plans and campaign calendars across brand, content, social, influencer, video and media communications.
Oversee campaign execution end to end — brief, budget, timeline, creative, launch, measurement.
Maintain brand consistency across every channel and touchpoint, in-store and online.
Own the retail and in-store marketing calendar in step with online activity.
Manage agency, influencer and partner relationships where used.
3. E-commerce
Own online revenue performance across our website and all marketplace channels.
Oversee pricing competitiveness, listing quality and catalogue accuracy across every channel.
Drive conversion — traffic quality, product page performance, checkout experience, and retention through CRM and lifecycle marketing.
Oversee SEO and paid performance as demand drivers for the online channel.
Ensure marketplace campaigns, platform promotions and stock availability are coordinated with the wider marketing calendar.
4. Performance, Budget & Reporting
Own the marketing and e-commerce budget — allocate spend, track against plan, and defend the return.
Define and track the metrics that matter for both teams: revenue by channel, cost of acquisition, return on ad spend, conversion, pricing position, listing health.
Report monthly to the Director and management on performance, risks and decisions needed.
Make the call on where to stop spending and where to double down, with the numbers to back it.
5. Automation & AI
Continuously look for repetitive work across both teams that AI or the right tool could take over, and drive those projects through.
Champion AI adoption in day-to-day execution — content production, listing management, pricing intelligence, reporting.
Work with the E-commerce Tech Lead to prioritise automation and platform work against commercial impact.
Hold the team to documented processes so the work is repeatable and transferable.
6. Cross-functional
Work with retail operations on stock, promotions and in-store execution.
Work with the service and repair side so online listings and campaigns reflect what operations can actually deliver.
Escalate clearly and early to the Director when a decision is above your line.
