Tax Compliance Officer

The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with all local tax laws and regulations. This role involves accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all tax obligations, as well as managing tax audits, assessments, and liaising with government agencies such as the BIR, LGUs, and other regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and file all required tax returns (e.g., VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, etc.) in accordance with Philippine tax laws.
• Ensure accurate and timely payment of all tax dues.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax-related transactions.
• Coordinate and assist during tax audits, assessments, and investigations by the BIR and other government agencies.
• Provide guidance to management and relevant departments on tax-related issues.
• Reconcile tax-related accounts and ensure proper journal entries.
• Handle registration updates, renewals, and compliance requirements with BIR, LGUs, and other regulatory agencies.
• Support external auditors in tax-related matters.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance tax compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), but non CPA are welcome to apply
• At least 2-3 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in the Philippines.
• Solid knowledge of the Philippine tax system and regulations (BIR processes, VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in handling BIR audits and assessments.
• Familiarity with tax compliance for both local and multinational companies.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
