We are hiring a Control Specialist who will ensure the smooth and efficient operation on site by designing, implementing, and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), enhancing efficiency and reliability in manufacturing and infrastructure systems.

Role Overview:

A control specialist focuses on integrating and optimizing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in Aggreko power plants. This entails implementing and maintaining these systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation of critical processes in our power generation plants. By facilitating seamless communication and control, the specialist plays a key role in enhancing the overall performance and stability of power plant operations, contributing to the delivery of consistent and reliable energy outputs.

What you'll do:

  1. Installation and programming of SCADA controls per documentation and drawings
  2. Installation and programming of PLC and HMI controls as per documentation and drawings
  3. Commissioning Documentation for SCADA and PLC control system including updating the records on SharePoint.
  4. Training of onsite personnel for both SCADA and PLC control systems
  5. Displays a commitment to Operational Excellence initiatives

You'll have the following skills and experience:

  1. Specialised Diploma in Controls
  2. Higher National Diploma/ Completed Apprenticeship
  3. Minimum 3 years' experience in a site environment
  4. Must be able to work under own initiative with good organization skills
  5. Fluent in English, excellent oral and written communication.
  6. Must have working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers ideally Omron and Allen Bradley
  7. Experience with SCADA applications including fault finding and operation
  8. Experience with PLC and HMI controls including fault finding and operation
  9. Advantage to have Dief controller experience
  10. Advantage to have Power Generation industry & high voltage network experience
  11. Desirable to have working knowledge of Rockwell – Factory Talk
