Financial Reporting (General Ledger) - Assistant Manager

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as an Assistant Manager for Financial Reporting (General Ledger) at Converge ICT Solutions Inc. located in Pasig. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for business control, tax preparation, fixed assets management, period closings, and general accounting duties.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in related fields, 3 years of which should be in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • CPA license is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Proficient in SAP (FI/CO modules), Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.

General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the general ledger module in SAP.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified in accordance with corporate policies and accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
  • Assist with journal entries, adjustments, and corrections as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support the creation of management reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying key trends and variances from budget or forecast.

Month-End & Year-End Closing:

  • Coordinate and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure that all closing activities are completed on time and that reconciliations are done accurately.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring proper resolution of discrepancies.

SAP Integration & Optimization:

  • Utilize SAP for processing and tracking all general ledger transactions.
  • Assist with SAP-related issues, data migration, and enhancements related to the general ledger function.
  • Work closely with the IT department and other finance team members to improve SAP-based workflows and reporting capabilities.

Audit Support:

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during the audit process, providing documentation and reports as needed.
  • Implement any recommendations arising from audit findings related to general ledger functions.

Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial reporting and general ledger activities.
  • Monitor compliance with tax, financial, and accounting standards, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other finance departments, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and FP&A teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior team members, guiding them in the preparation of financial data and reports.
