- Accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger entries.
- Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records of purchase orders and expense reports.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and assist in reconciling other financial accounts, including credit card statements and vendor accounts.
- Input financial data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all records.
- Organize and maintain both digital and physical financial records, including filing invoices, receipts, and other supporting documentation.
- Process and review bills for payment, verify amounts, approve payment vouchers, and manage payment schedules.
- Prepare invoices for clients, follow up on outstanding payments, and assist with collections when needed.
- Record and monitor company expenses, ensuring they are in line with budgetary controls.
- Assist in generating and preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal use and audits.
- Support the accounting team in preparing budgets and forecasts by providing necessary data and updates on expenses and income.
- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring employee hours, overtime, and deductions are recorded accurately.
- Verify payroll calculations and assist with resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and data related to financial transactions.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including managing correspondence, answering queries related to invoices and payments, and assisting in other general office duties.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting support role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling financial records and transactions.
- High degree of accuracy with numbers and financial calculations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work well with others in a small team.
