Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for all the sections under his/her supervision in the recreation, entertainment, sports and activities in the hotel.
  2. Supervises the staff conducting all activities, entertainment, and sports.
  3. Delegates work and assignments to the staff.
  4. Plans future activities.
  5. Prepares for publication a variety of brochures, posters, news releases, flyers, website and related communications regarding recreation programs.
  6. Develops, prepares, and justifies a budget for areas of responsibility.
  7. Responsible for entire recreation operations of the hotel.
  8. Responsible for all equipment under Recreation's care.
  9. Supervises the sports program and the sports center.
  10. Attends all meetings as required.
  11. Acts as M.C. at functions.
  12. Makes regular inspections of the area under direct supervision.
  13. Trains all new staff and provides regular training to all members in the sports team to improve job performance and meet hotel standards.
Administrative Responsibilities

  1. Produces monthly reports on the operation of the department.
  2. Reports directly to and communicates with the Director of Rooms on all pertinent matters affecting Recreation.
Technical Responsibilities

  1. Be familiar with property safety, first aid, and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
Commercial Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for knowing the monthly Budgeted Income and Expenses and ensuring the department meets the targeted figures.
  2. Preparation of the departmental annual budget, including anticipated revenue and expenses for Recreation area.
  3. To drive revenue initiatives using the resources of the hotel. Revenue opportunities will be capitalized from both hotel guests and the exploring of outside business opportunities.
Human Resources Responsibilities

  1. Develops and trains team members. Conducts on-the-job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff.
  2. Evaluates all Recreation team members after training-performance knowledge and potential.
  3. Oversees and checks that all Recreation team members are on duty at their station and involved in activities projects or guest interaction.
  4. Oversees monthly rosters of staff schedules.
RELATIONSHIP

  1. Interacts and is responsible for the safety of the guests and employees.
  2. Relays information on activities to guests.
  3. Contacts outside entertainers for work in the hotel and arranges their payment.
  4. Arranges and supervises all activities and entertainment for special occasions, e.g., Christmas and New Year.
  5. Arranges and supervises all activities connected to special requests for groups or other guests.
  6. Arranges and attends all Recreation functions.
Others

  1. Continuous learning through own IDP.
  2. Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree with a major in Recreation, Leisure Management, or related field.
  2. At least 3-5 years of experience in hotel recreation, activities, or sports management.
  3. Excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others.
  4. Fluent in English.
  5. Computer literacy.
  6. Good general health. Able to perform hard physical work, stamina to walk and stand for long periods of time and the ability to participate in activities.
