Information Technology Security Specialist

Job Title: Security Assurance and Assessment Officer (Junior Officer)

Job Location: BGC Taguig

Job Summary:

Develop tactical plans and programs for the establishment and maintenance of the Bank's third-party information security risk management framework and ensure alignment with the enterprise risk framework. Perform third-party security, system security, and information asset-based risk assessments. Analyze and review complex bank processes, application systems, and network security implementations to identify potential risks, including the determination of risk mitigation strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare tactical plans and/or programs for conducting information, third-party, and system security risk assessments.
  2. Identify the Bank's critical assets, threats to these assets, vulnerabilities, and review the adequacy of existing security controls.
  3. Coordinate and assess the security performance of third-party vendors that collect, process, transmit, and store client data.
  4. Perform threat modeling-based system security risk assessments for all IT systems and assets.
  5. Analyze and assess the impact of changes in processes, technical changes, and systems enhancements.
  6. Review the adequacy of existing security controls to safeguard information confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  7. Formulate and recommend information security policies and procedures based on assessment results.
  8. Coordinate across all business units and stakeholders for information gathering for assessments.
  9. Articulate security findings and risk remediation strategies through risk assessment reports.
  10. Track and follow up on the status of risk mitigation activities.
  11. Maintain and update the security risk register and remediation activities.
  12. Execute and monitor the accomplishment of risk assessment plans and programs.
  13. Investigate reported incidents related to information handling and data privacy.
  14. Stay updated on information security trends and regulatory changes.
  15. Review the work of other Security Quality and Assurance Risk Assessors and provide guidance.
  16. Collaborate with the Department Head on continuous improvement programs for information security.
  17. Perform other duties as directed by the Department Head.

Job Specifications:

  1. Knowledgeable about compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP, DPA, PCI-DSS).
  2. Working knowledge of information security domains and controls related to third-party risks and data security.
  3. Experience in information security governance, controls assurance, and risk assessments.
  4. Strong background in network and application system security risk assessments.
  5. Ability to plan, execute, and document assessment activities with minimal guidance.
  6. Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
  7. Analytical skills to identify and analyze information security risks.
  8. Project management skills to lead and manage assessment activities.
  9. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  10. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  11. Good written and verbal communication skills.
