Hi We're Smartsourcing, and we're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing team, full-time and on-site. If you enjoy turning reconciliations into reliable insights, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth financial operations, this could be your next opportunity.

Your Role as Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant, you'll be responsible for core financial processes including month-end reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and tax compliance. You will collaborate across teams and support process improvement projects to enhance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Month-End Reporting & Reconciliations
  2. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  3. Complete month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, amortization)
  4. Reconcile sales from Abacus to Xero
  5. Review and post depreciation for Fixed Asset Register (FAR)
  6. Deliver monthly management accounting reports
  7. Calculate interest payments
  1. Sales & Operational Support
  2. Monitor Accounts Receivable weekly
  3. Handle bank reconciliations and supplier payment runs
  4. Process fortnightly payroll
  1. Tax & Compliance
  2. Collate and submit tax information (Income Tax, GST, FBT, PAYG)
  3. Prepare annual financial statements
  4. Liaise with external tax accountants
  1. Cross-Team Coordination
  2. Work with the Finance Manager – Greenslate
  3. Collaborate with YKP (Family and Trust Companies)
  4. Contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualified (or actively working towards certification)
  • 2+ years relevant experience in accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations and payroll compliance
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail and systems thinking
