DWS continues its journey as a publicly listed asset manager since its IPO and is in the process of establishing its own infrastructure and corporate functions, including Procurement. Third Party Management (TPM) is a fundamental pillar of DWS Procurement. You will report to the Head of TPM and have responsibility for the ESG framework and assessments of ESG associated risks within the TPRM process, which is a unique and independent role within the TPM organization. DWS's vendor portfolio consists of 2,500 parent vendors, which will be subject to a holistic risk management process as well as special categories such as Fund Appointed Third Parties, Brokers/Dealers, Distributors, Delegations, etc. ESG is a focal area for DWS, where a lot of emphasis is given to establishing a high level of expertise.

Your responsibilities

  • Establish and own ESG standards, controls, and processes in line with the associated regulatory requirements for DWS vendors and third parties.
  • Define the scope and the levels of assessment required for ESG assessments depending on third party type.
  • Establish ESG screening requirements and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement these using Ecovadis, ProcessUnity, and other available platforms.
  • Work closely with DWS Group Sustainability Office (GSO) to ensure the ESG third party controls are consistent with other DWS ESG standards, i.e., clients and products.
  • Support efforts to decarbonize DWS's supply chain through enhancing both quantification and reduction of emissions from goods and services that DWS purchases, ultimately helping DWS to deliver upon its public net zero commitments.
  • Work closely with DWS Legal on understanding any new laws and regulations and translating them into adequate controls.
  • Act as an independent SME within the process similarly to other risk domain SMEs, i.e., Information Security, Data Privacy, Legal, etc.
  • Identify automation opportunities and drive efficiencies.
  • Perform risk assessment during the initial onboarding and subsequently periodic risk reviews to ensure DWS risk appetite adherence.
  • Propose mitigation actions and act as an advisory SME for DWS business lines.

Your skills and qualifications

  • Proven experience in Procurement, TPRM, TPM, or ESG management in the financial services, shared services, outsourcing, and similar industries.
  • Expertise in regulatory work would be beneficial.
  • A degree in any of the above areas is desirable, but other related degrees could be acceptable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be working with a wide variety of key stakeholders including DWS senior management.
  • Amenable to midshift schedule – 2pm to 11pm.
