Shift: Mid-shift (4pm to 1am)

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Modeler with at least 3 years of experience in designing and developing data models. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and extensive experience with Power BI. The Data Modeler shall collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and design effective, scalable data models that ensure data consistency, quality, and integrity. This role is key to supporting data architecture and analytics capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models in Power BI that meet business requirements and adhere to best practices in data management.
  2. Collaboratively leverage Microsoft Fabric to utilize, manage, and optimize data pipelines, data lakes, and Python notebooks.
  3. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data models.
  4. Review and optimize existing data models to ensure high performance, data consistency, and integrity.
  5. Maintain comprehensive data documentation, including data dictionaries, metadata and data lineage, ensuring clarity and traceability.
  6. Conduct data profiling and analysis to ensure the quality and consistency of data.
  7. Work with data engineers to implement best practices for data governance, security and privacy.
  8. Assist in the creation and optimization of data pipelines, data marts and data warehouses.
  9. Stay up to date with the latest data modeling techniques and technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Must have 3+ years of relevant experience in data modeling, with a strong understanding of database concepts.
  2. Extensive experience in designing and implementing logical and physical data models using any data modeling tools (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner).
  3. Proven experience with SQL, DAX and multidimensional data modeling techniques.
  4. Solid understanding of data normalization, denormalization and data warehousing concepts.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  6. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Familiarity with data modeling best practices and industry standards.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or any related field.
