Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Business Process Improvement Specialist responsible for identifying and improving the outcomes of Chong Hua Hospital's operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase customer satisfaction.

S/He is also responsible for the deployment of the basic and some advanced lean management tools across all parts of the organization. As an agent of change, the Specialist will serve as a catalyst to create a culture that continuously strives for operational excellence and embraces the principles of process improvement.

Lean Management Deployment

  • Participates in the implementation of lean management programs throughout the organization.
  • Champions the deployment of the basic and some advanced lean management tools and techniques.
  • Participates in the development of the business process transformation vision and strategies.
  • Tracks and monitors the effectiveness of lean management tools deployment and metrics; recommends and implements changes as needed to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of appropriate lean management tools and techniques.
  • Develops and delivers operational excellence training modules and lean education programs to the organization.

Project Management and Communication

  • Liaises and coordinates with departments on the status of projects to ensure that projects are identified, prioritized, and implemented in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assists in facilitating the sharing of best practices across different departments throughout the organization.
  • Facilitates the identification, understanding, and improvement of process issues by using appropriate quantitative and qualitative tools.
  • Participates in the project selection process and identification of opportunities for improvement across all levels of the organization.
  • Performs regular reviews and monitoring on the status of business process improvement projects from different departments to coach on its implementation and appropriateness of tools and techniques used for optimum results.
  • Spearheads an improvement initiative or problem-solving process project that is aligned with the core purpose and vision of the organization.
  • Implements effective project management tools and techniques to ensure project initiatives are completed on time and within budget. Coordinates and collaborates with Financial Analysts and Internal Audit Specialists on the financial aspects of the project.
  • Communicates with staff and management on ways of implementing the plans and recommendations that they come up with.
  • Collaborates with department leaders and staff in the effective deployment and implementation of lean management tools and techniques.
  • Attends monthly committee meetings and actively participates in discussions providing recommendations to enhance overall business processes.

Monitoring of Quality Indicators

  • Conducts data analysis on assigned quality indicator(s) classified as the Hospital's priorities in terms of quality Required Clinical Monitors, Required Administrative Monitors, IPSG Monitors, and provides effective recommendations to improve the levels of quality of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Nursing, or other clinical discipline required. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in Process Improvement using Lean and Six Sigma is required; Healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Certified or has gained practical experience in Lean – Six Sigma Methodology and Practical Problem Solving Process.
  • Experienced and a passionate process improvement leader and educator (formal or informal), with proven problem-solving experience.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of basic software: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Minitab.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is a preferred complement.
  • Good command of the English language.
