Job Summary
The Reinsurance Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the reinsurance team, assisting in the placement, documentation, accounting, and claims processing of reinsurance transactions. This role involves close coordination with internal departments, brokers, and reinsurers to ensure smooth and efficient reinsurance operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory and business requirements. This position is open to fresh graduates with a strong willingness to learn and grow in the reinsurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, documentation, and administration of facultative reinsurance placements and releasing of closing binders.
- Support the team in gathering, analyzing, and organizing underwriting and claims data for reinsurance submissions and reporting.
- Monitor reinsurance recoveries and outstanding claims, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate record-keeping.
- Assist in reinsurance accounting, including the preparation of binders, statements of accounts, premium payment and settlement reconciliations.
- Maintain organized records of reinsurance contracts, endorsements, and correspondence in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with brokers and reinsurers to facilitate smooth transactions and resolve inquiries related to reinsurance arrangements.
- Provide support during audits, regulatory reviews, and internal reporting processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market developments relevant to reinsurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- Open to fresh graduates; prior internship or experience in insurance/reinsurance is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with reinsurance systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in the reinsurance industry.
