Chem Technician

Chemist/NIR Technician responsible for NIR analysis, quality control, and laboratory operations in a leading nutrition company.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform NIR analysis on raw materials and finished products from Bulacan and Toll milling plants.
• Release NIR results to the QA Raw Material/Finished Good Inspector as acceptance criteria.
• Issue Non-Conformity Reports for nonconforming raw materials and finished products, coordinating with purchasing and Mill Supervisor.
• Prepare and send samples to Up Science Vietnam or local external laboratories, including for BAI registration.
• Prepare samples for monthly NIR calibration and monitor monthly control charts, reporting deviations to Quality Head.
• Perform mycotoxin, brix, water activity, PDI, and granulation tests and record results.
• Schedule water sampling and testing per HACCP requirements.
• Receive samples, assign laboratory codes, and facilitate NAV transactions and purchase requests.
• Conduct monthly inventory of laboratory consumables and schedule annual equipment calibration.
• Maintain NIR machine functionality, report malfunctions, and keep maintenance records.
• Monitor and investigate customer complaints.
• Submit weekly summaries of NIR sample analyses.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory.
• Work morning shifts, with overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

The company is looking for:

• Graduate of B.S. Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or any applied science course.
• Licensed Chemist or Licensed Chemical Technician.
• Experience in laboratory operations is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates may qualify.
• Above average competence in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Willingness to work shifting schedules, including two shifts and overtime.
• Good moral character, flexibility, and honesty.
