Role description:

Arcadis are excited to again be growing their cost and commercial management team. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join our team to work on a range of projects with a focus on sustainability and resilience.

As part of our Cost Management team, you'll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they're delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.

The role sits within our global business area Resilience. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:

  1. Work independently within established systems to monitor and review project costs and variances on small commercial/regeneration/residential projects, in order to control cost variables.
  2. Deliver/assist to manage small to medium scale cost projects or significant components of cost management assignments, ensuring the delivery of the required scope of work within set deadlines.
  3. Understand and comply with business risk and present any project concerns or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted.
  4. Provide advice to colleagues on principles of risk management, to ensure adherence to the organisation's risk and compliance processes.
  5. Analyse and review a range of data to collate trends and prepare documentation such as delivery plans, providing advice and making recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making.
  6. Use own knowledge and experience to review and analyse existing cost and commercial management processes and policies, sharing knowledge and taking an active involvement in service improvement and innovation.
  7. Interact with internal and external customers, applying technical knowledge to complete complex, professional level tasks in order to ensure projects/programmes can be delivered to meet customer expectations.
  8. Provide specialist technical advice and guidance within area, supporting others with cost management queries and actively sharing knowledge in order to inform colleagues and provide a high level of service to clients.
  9. Collaborate with external stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of their needs in order to resolve stakeholder issues and provide quality client care, contributing to ongoing client satisfaction.
  10. Assist in leading small to medium-sized cost projects or provide a significant cost management element, according to project scope and project deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or equivalent relevant discipline.
  2. Attainment of OR near attainment of relevant professional certification or working towards chartered status.
  3. Experience in delivering analysis and insights.
  4. In-depth technical knowledge of specialised field, including construction processes and cost and commercial management.
  5. Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
  7. Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.
