Job Description:

  1. Responsible for the efficient operations of a group of time and voyage-chartered vessels with the main role to monitor or coordinate the vessel's voyage, providing sound service by securing the safety of the vessel from point of origin to destination while investigating, proposing, and accomplishing the improvement plan for the voyage's profit.
  2. Directs a vessel to accomplish a voyage by providing the details of the contract, port information, cargo information, weather conditions, and safety information.
  3. Establishes foundational knowledge related to sea navigation, such as route characteristics (tidal current and weather characteristics, etc.) and weather charts to contribute to the safe voyages.
  4. Monitors the vessel's movement while at sea and in port by communicating with the vessel's master using email and telephone and at the same time communicating information received with charterers, agents, bunker suppliers, and brokers on a daily basis to keep all parties informed.
  5. Supports the vessel by making arrangements at appropriate times, including arrangement of Port Disbursement Accounts, bunker stems, and hold cleaning equipment.
  6. Ensures that contract terms are strictly adhered to and takes necessary and suitable action when a breach occurs.
  7. Experience voyages with various types of cargo and expand knowledge about the characteristics of the cargo.
  8. Analyzes freight calculations on voyage business and highlights discrepancies/omissions between estimations and actual occurrences in a voyage.
  9. Monitors the cash flow related to the voyage by collecting the freight/hire and arranging payment in appropriate time.
  10. Updates the company software application to record the accounts of the voyage in line with the company's monthly schedule.
  11. Identifies and manages trouble concerning the vessel(s) if they occur.
  12. Travels or visits operating vessels at loading or discharging ports in the Asian countries, including domestic ports in the Philippines.
  13. Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the management.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's/College degree in any course; Maritime-related studies is an advantage.
  2. Preferably a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.
  3. Basic knowledge of MS Office Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  4. Has strong analytical skills.
  5. Above average oral and written English communication skills.
  6. Background in shipping maritime is a plus but not required.
  7. Strong inclination to establish a career in the shipping industry.
  8. Self-motivated, a good team player, and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
  9. Strong attention to detail, organized, ability to multitask, and to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a larger team.
  10. Independently prioritize tasks and complete work without omissions.
