About the role

As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the existing outstanding tax matters and effectively articulating the Company's tax policies to various internal and external stakeholders, playing a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial and operational objectives.

What you'll be doing

Internal Interfaces: Finance, IT, Purchasing, Operations, Business Development
External Interfaces: Clients, Goods & Sales Tax Authorities, Statutory and Tax Auditors & Consultants

  • Oversee indirect taxation processes, including attending assessments and managing both direct and indirect taxation matters.
  • Manage and file VAT, Service Tax, and GST returns independently, ensuring full compliance.
  • Stay current with the latest GST and VAT assessment procedures across various states.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of periodic indirect tax compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with consultants and law firms on indirect tax-related matters.
  • Effectively communicate and explain the company's tax positions to internal stakeholders and external parties, including clients and VAT, Service Tax, and GST authorities.
  • Lead service tax audits by the Department, ensuring accurate submission of required documents and information.
  • Provide support for ongoing assessment proceedings across various judicial forums, ensuring timely and precise documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, advocating for the company's position on tax matters.
  • Continuously assess and communicate the impact of changing tax laws on the business, ensuring full compliance at all times.

What we're looking for

  • Professional Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Practitioner (CTP).
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated experience in taxation, with a focus on indirect taxation.
  • Experience in managing BIR tax/LGU assessments is required; knowledge of international taxation is preferred.
  • Candidates with direct experience in appearing for assessments will be given priority.
  • Strong understanding of GST laws and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to solve complex problems.
