They specialize in full-cycle accounting, tax planning, advisory services, and building long-term partnerships with their clients. As part of their growth, the firm is acquiring another accounting practice, which will double its revenue and team size. They're committed to building a strong and scalable leadership layer — and that’s where you come in. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage accounting operations for a portfolio of Canadian clients Supervise and support a team of 3–4 junior team members Assign work, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of deliverables Review monthly and year-end financials for accuracy and completeness Collaborate with onshore and offshore team members to meet deadlines Conduct light client communication as needed (no sales or restructuring advisory) Participate in regular team huddles and foster open communication Flag and fix inconsistencies or delays before they become problems Maintain alignment with firm SOPs and participate in improving workflows QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with U.S. or Canadian accounting firms 2–3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role within a U.S. or Canadian public accounting firm Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Xero Familiarity with Karbon (practice management) is a bonus but not required Detail-oriented, organized, and a natural follow-through kind of person Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) Strong sense of urgency and personal accountability SKILLS REQUIRED Technical Accounting Proficiency: Experienced in managing charts of accounts, fixed assets, leases, capital transactions, amortization schedules, and revenue recognition with strong compliance and accuracy. Accounting Operations Mastery: Highly proficient in bank feeds, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, expense management, and journal entry preparation to ensure seamless financial workflows. Cloud Accounting & Integrations: Strong understanding of cloud-based accounting software and how system integrations map to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in automated financial processes. QuickBooks Online Expertise: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), including effective use of categories, items, classes, locations, tags, and advanced data fields for optimized reporting. Excel Financial Modeling: Capable of building and maintaining complex accounting schedules in Microsoft Excel, leveraging formulas and data analysis for financial accuracy. Strong Analytical & Math Skills: Highly adept at financial calculations, data analysis, and numerical accuracy to support precise decision-making.
