The Supply Chain Management Head (Thermal ) is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain governance for Meralco PowerGen Corporation. This role ensures the strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationships align with the company's operational and financial goals. The SCM Head will play a critical role in ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly within the energy and power generation industry.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Supply Chain Management
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy to support business goals and operational efficiency.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, and risk mitigation strategies across the supply chain.
  • Align supply chain policies and strategies with Meralco PowerGen’s corporate sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) objectives.
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
  • Oversee the procurement process for power generation equipment, fuel supply, spare parts, and services , ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain long-term supplier relationships while negotiating contracts and pricing to optimize value.
  • Ensure compliance with Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Department of Energy (DOE), and other regulatory requirements in procurement processes.
Inventory & Logistics Management
  • Develop efficient inventory control and warehouse management systems to ensure adequate supply of critical materials.
  • Optimize logistics and transportation strategies to minimize costs and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Implement digital tools and automation to improve supply chain visibility and tracking.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships for long-term business sustainability.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and legal , to align supply chain activities with business needs.
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs) .
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities adhere to local and international compliance standards .
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier disruptions, price volatility, and regulatory changes .
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance supply chain resilience and competitiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, preferably in the power/energy sector .
  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management .
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in the Philippine power and energy industry.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and digital supply chain tools .
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills .
