Position: Internal Audit Manager (SOX)
Work setup & shift: Work From Home | Night shift
OverviewRole focuses on managing internal audits and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. The Internal Audit Manager will manage internal and external staff (including India-based teams) and complex audit projects to support multinational capabilities. The candidate should be a detailed-oriented leader with strong SOX and GAAP knowledge, and experience with a Big 4 firm or a multinational company. The role involves interacting with employees and external personnel at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do- Oversee external SOX consultants and auditors to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation (section 404) by preparing, documenting, testing, and monitoring conformance
- Assess the design of internal controls for effectiveness
- Manage audit and SOX-related deliverables and adhere to established timelines
- Conduct annual SOX audits, evaluating risk across financial, operational, and strategic controls
- Document audit findings and SOX compliance issues in written reports
- Communicate audit issues and results to management
- Participate in or support annual operational audits, as required
- Update and maintain internal audit tools and systems
- Travel for business purposes, occasionally at short notice (10-15%)
- Manage a team of multi-level auditors
- Oversee all facets of internal audits
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a Big 4 firm or a multinational company
- CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications preferred
- Proven expertise in auditing U.S. publicly traded companies
- Strong knowledge of SOX (2002) and GAAP
- Solid finance and accounting background with a focus on best practices
- Demonstrated leadership in managing internal and external audit teams
- Proficient in Excel, Visio, and key audit/reporting tools
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Flexible availability to coordinate across U.S. time zones
- Excellent bilingual communication skills (written and verbal)
- Collaborative, with a proactive, "can-do" attitude
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Fast learner with a hands-on, independent work style
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
