Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment. Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts. Drive to the job site. Repair damaged equipment parts. Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty vehicles. Clean and service machine attachments such as winches, blades, and side booms. Perform major repair work when necessary. Consult with other mechanics on smaller jobs. Report damaged or faulty equipment to management. Requirements High school diploma or vocational training. Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic (e.g., NCII) or related certification. Experience building and constructing vessels & using marine airbags for launching. Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic. Understanding of computer testing technologies. Ability to lift heavy machinery. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment. Ability to work after-hours if required. Good communication skills.
