Overview Spye Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines Director of Finance and HR - Multi-Entity Operations Position Title: Director of Finance and HR Reports To: Chief Operating Officer Employment Type: Full-time, Remote Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Central Time (Minneapolis, MN) Monday-Friday Compensation: PHP125,000 - 160,000 The Director of Finance and HR is a senior remote position responsible for managing comprehensive financial operations, reporting, and human resources management across five interconnected business entities. This role manages a team of offshore specialists and serves as the primary financial operations leader, ensuring accurate multi-entity accounting, timely financial reporting, and effective HR administration. The position requires strong leadership capabilities, advanced financial analysis skills, and the ability to implement and maintain robust financial systems and controls. Key Responsibilities Manage daily financial operations for all five entities using QuickBooks Online as the primary platform Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each entity Develop and maintain consolidated financial reporting across all entities Manage cash flow analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting Ensure compliance with tax requirements and coordinate with external CPAs/tax professionals Implement and maintain internal financial controls and audit procedures Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making Manage and develop a team of 3+ offshore specialists covering AP, AR, HR, and procurement functions Establish performance standards, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing coaching Coordinate work assignments and ensure consistent quality across all team members Foster effective communication and collaboration within the remote team structure Accounts Payable & Receivable Management Supervise multi-entity AP operations ensuring timely vendor payments and accurate record-keeping Manage AR processes including customer invoicing, payment tracking, and collections Review and approve financial transactions, maintaining accuracy across all entities Ensure proper inter-company accounting and transaction recording Payroll & Benefits Administration (Future Scope) Lead transition from PEO to in-house payroll processing using QuickBooks Online Full Service Payroll (effective January 2026) Manage benefits administration through QuickBooks partners or insurance broker relationships Ensure payroll compliance across all entities and maintain accurate employee records Coordinate with HR team on employee onboarding, policy administration, and regulatory compliance Human Resources Management Manage HR operations across all five entities Support employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance requirements Coordinate with legal counsel on employment matters as needed Maintain confidential employee records and ensure data security Systems & Process Improvement Continuously evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements Maintain data integrity across multiple QuickBooks Online instances Coordinate system integrations and workflow optimizations Required Qualifications English Language Proficiency (Critical Requirement) Prior experience working with US based companies Native or near-native English proficiency (both written and spoken) Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and accurately in English No language barriers in verbal presentations, client calls, or written reporting Previous experience working directly with US-based teams and clients Must be able to participate in real-time discussions, conference calls, and presentations without translation assistance Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with increasing responsibility 3+ years of team management or supervisory experience Construction accounting experience (solar, low voltage, electrical, or general contracting) Retail accounting experience (inventory management, point-of-sale systems, multi-location operations) - Preferred Experience managing multi-entity financial operations in the United States Proven track record in financial reporting and analysis across diverse business models Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO Advanced certification preferred) Strong Excel skills including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling Experience with payroll systems and HR information systems Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and federal/state tax compliance Experience with US business tax filings (1120, 1120S, 1065, state returns) Familiarity with construction progress billing, retention accounting, and job costing Understanding of retail inventory accounting (FIFO/LIFO, shrinkage, markup calculations) Leadership & Communication Skills Demonstrated ability to manage and develop remote teams Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English - must be able to present financial information clearly to US-based management without language barriers Strong project management and organizational abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Experience working effectively across different time zones Proven track record of direct communication with US clients and management teams Industry Knowledge Construction industry operations and accounting practices Retail business operations and accounting (inventory, sales tax, multi-location) -
