Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design thermal solutions for heating and temperature sensing applications in gas and/or liquid delivery systems, using CAD software to execute designs. Maintain product/project development experience; ability to present to sales/operations staff when required. Research and analyze data from customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application. Collaborate with internal account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to customers’ specifications. Coordinate with UCT Thermal manufacturing to assist in fabrication, test, and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to design and customer specifications. Participate in design review meetings and follow the NPI process via MS Teams in PST. Potentially participate in customer presentations with sales/operations staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience working with tools and manufacturing equipment. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Customer service oriented. Working knowledge of CAD software – AutoDesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD 2D, and SolidWorks. Understanding of Agile database; knowledge of SAP preferred. Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure site delivery and quality. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database software. Fundamental understanding of thermal applications and material properties. Educational/Certification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience is mandatory. Experience 5+ years of design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating or related industry. Experience with thermal management and electrical design is preferred. Hands-on prototyping and testing experience is highly desirable. Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environments. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with design cycles of 2-4 weeks. Work Environment and Travel Must be able to attend MS Teams meetings and use a computer for extended periods; meetings may be in PST. May require lifting 10-20 pounds infrequently. Overnight travel may be required for training and meetings (2-3 months of training in US Hayward, including fabrication, designing and testing of Thermal Products).
