Accounting Clerk – Remote in Metro Manila Optum is a global organization that delivers care aided by technology. The Billing Coordinator / Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the accounts‑receivable operations for Optum’s U.S.-based healthcare financial services. This position functions primarily as a coordinator, ensuring timely and accurate communication with internal teams and external clients via email, complying with strict SLAs, while maintaining compliance with U.S. Protected Health Information (PHI) standards. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate billing activities for U.S. healthcare accounts, ensuring timely follow‑up and resolution. Manage a moderate to high volume of professional email correspondence with clients, payers, and internal stakeholders from multiple mailboxes. Monitor and track account statuses, escalating issues as needed, and support resolution efforts in collaboration with the AR team. Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA and other U.S. healthcare privacy regulations. Assist in preparing minor reports. Support process improvements and contribute to team efficiency and service quality. Sales and Purchase Order Entry and Maintenance via SAP. Credit Memo Entry and Maintenance via SAP and Oracle. Managing tickets through EnterpriseNow. Solid coordination and teamwork across various functions. Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies, and procedures, and any and all directives (e.g., transfer, re‑assignment, work‑shift changes, policy changes, alternative work arrangements). Required Qualifications College graduate. Telecommuting Requirements: Ability to keep all company sensitive information secure. Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy. Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high‑speed internet connection or leverage an existing high‑speed internet service (having access to a reliable backup power source is a plus). Skills: Solid proficiency in business English, both verbal and written; able to communicate clearly and professionally via email. Demonstrates initiative and consistently takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities without external prompting. Analyzes complex issues, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions independently. Effectively manages time, tasks, and resources to meet deadlines and maintain productivity. Pays close attention to the finer points of tasks and projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Detail‑oriented with solid organizational and time‑management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel). Familiarity with AR systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms). Preferred Qualifications Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce, or other platforms providing CRM services such as EnterpriseNow, or comparable systems.
