ABOUT THIS ROLE The Electrical Design Engineer will be working closely with the client to support the business and manage the following tasks: WHAT YOU'LL DO: Working within the Manufacturing Division's Design and Engineering team to deliver set goals and objectives. Designing circuit diagrams and switchboard general arrangements using AutoCAD. Ensuring that all design results meet the customer's requirements in accordance with the company, Statutory, Regulatory, and relevant Australian Standards i.e. AS61439 and project specific specifications. Liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that design requirements and documentation are obtained, communicated, and understood by all stakeholders. Actively taking part in all the Manufacturing Division's Safety requirements set by the client. Actively working with and ensuring that all Quality and Environmental System requirements for the Manufacturing Division are being met with a positive attitude. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Tertiary Engineering qualification or trade certificate. Minimum 5 years local experience in electrical drafting particularly in the switchboard industry. Knowledge in electrical switchboards, control systems, motor control, power distribution electrical installations, and manufacturing. Working knowledge of all guidelines, Statutory and Regulatory and the new Australian Standard specification relevant to the design of switchboards. (IEC or AS/NZS 61439.1) Possess excellent knowledge and experience with commonly used supplier equipment such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider and NHP. Must be able to produce a layout of the switchboard with minimal supervision. Proficient use of AutoCAD (minimum 3 years of experience) and Microsoft Office packages. Self-motivated and enthusiastic outlook Leadership experience and/or aspirations. Ability to work in a team environment.
