Senior Specialist, Finance Special Operations

POSITION TITLE: Senior Specialist, Special Operations REPORTING TO: Team Lead LOCATION: Cebu, Philippines Summary Description Working with an emerging shared services organization, the Senior Specialist is responsible for delivering the mandates of the Special Operations Team. This team tackles time-sensitive and mission critical operational imperatives head‑on coming from Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Record‑to‑Report. They use their special skills to efficiently relieve operational teams on capacity issues. They provide additional support for major periodic transitions. They assist in investigating and correcting escalated issues while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers. This team reports to the Cebu Site Director with the Senior Managers as the key stakeholders. Essential Responsibilities Acts as immediate relief to DBS functions who are experiencing organizational capacity challenges. Assists the Senior Team Lead in assessing proper resource planning. Assists the Managers/Sr Managers in executing activities that improve quality and efficiency. Assists in stabilizing the operations. Identifies process improvement and relay to the process Managers. Performs periodic review of team capacity and utilization. Participates in Continuous Improvement and/or Automation initiatives to design new or re‑engineer existing financial or business processes which drive business transformation. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accountancy (CPA highly desirable); Information Technology, Computer Science Minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the end‑to‑end finance processes (AP, AR & GL, FA, Intercompany & Lease) At least 3+ years in the shared services model Experienced with major ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.) and reporting/business intelligence tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau Software, SAP BI and the like. Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (i.e. basic to complex formulas, pivoting, graphs and charts, Macro Excel is a plus) Six‑sigma trained is a plus. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications (including SharePoint and Web‑based applications) Preferred Qualifications Ability to work with leads and managers of other teams and functions. Ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to critically analyze data and determine its validity. Exercises professional skepticism. Ability to work in a fast paced, high‑volume environment while remaining organized with strict attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate results. Willing to work flexible hours when business conditions dictate. High level of customer focus and ability to always maintain a positive attitude. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
