Backend Developer

Position: Backend Developer
Location: Remote (Philippines-based only)
Employment Type: Full-time

We’re looking for a Backend Developer with strong experience in building scalable APIs, managing databases, and deploying cloud-based solutions. You’ll focus on architecting secure, reliable backend services while collaborating with frontend engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end systems.

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs (REST and GraphQL).

• Work with Python/Django, FastAPI, and Node.js/Express to develop server-side applications.

• Manage databases (SQL and NoSQL) with focus on PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB .

• Deploy and manage applications on AWS (Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, EC2, etc.) .

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using Docker and related tools.

• Ensure system scalability, security, and performance optimization.

• Write automated unit and integration tests using PyTest, Jest, or similar frameworks .

• Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to deliver integrated solutions.

• Conduct code reviews and follow best practices for clean, maintainable code.

• 3–7 years of backend development experience.

• Proven expertise in Python/Django, FastAPI, or Node.js/Express .

• Strong experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) .

• Practical hands-on knowledge of AWS services .

• Experience with CI/CD tools and Dockerized deployments .

• Ability to design and maintain scalable, secure architectures.

• Solid understanding of testing frameworks and writing automated test cases.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Excellent communication and ability to work effectively in remote, distributed teams.

• Familiarity with Redis or ElasticSearch .

• Experience with ETL pipelines or data-heavy applications.

• Exposure to microservices architecture .

• Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
