General Manager (SBU: Globe Merchants, Inc.) *This position is for Globe Merchants, Inc. (GMI) , the retail subsidiary of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC), handling airport retail brands such as Nomad, Nomad Express, and Momento across Aboitiz Airports. The General Manager (GM) provides overall leadership and strategic direction for Globe Merchants Inc. (GMI), with full accountability for business performance, growth, and sustainability. The role oversees national and regional retail operations across multiple locations, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, operational excellence, and superior customer experience. The GM holds full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. The role champions data-driven decision-making, driving revenue growth, cost discipline, and margin optimization while leading high-performing retail teams toward achieving both strategic and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth Develop and execute business strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives across regions. Ensure alignment of business plans with corporate vision, strategic objectives, and brand standards. Translate corporate strategy into clear operational and commercial priorities for retail teams. 2. Retail Operations Management Provide oversight of end-to-end retail operations, including sales, merchandising, store management, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. Establish and enforce operational policies, SOPs, and performance standards to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance across all locations. Design and implement effective incentive programs to drive sales performance and productivity. Champion service excellence and continuously elevate the customer shopping experience. Lead the preparation, monitoring, and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and P&L statements. Analyze financial reports, sales performance, and key business KPIs to guide strategic and operational decisions. Drive cost optimization, pricing strategies, and margin improvement initiatives without compromising customer experience. Ensure financial controls, reporting accuracy, and accountability across all retail operations. Lead, mentor, and develop retail leaders, managers, and frontline teams. Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure robust training and capability-building programs to strengthen retail execution, customer service, and leadership readiness. Drive employee engagement, retention, and succession planning for critical roles. 5. Business Development, Marketing & Customer Insight Partner with marketing teams to design and execute effective campaigns, promotions, and customer loyalty programs. Strengthen brand presence across physical retail, digital platforms, and e-commerce channels. Monitor customer behavior, market trends, and competitor activity to inform product mix, pricing, and merchandising strategies. Leverage customer data and insights to enhance spend, frequency, and loyalty. Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal company policies. Protect company assets through effective audit controls, inventory management, and loss-prevention programs. Identify operational and financial risks and implement mitigation measures to safeguard business continuity. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of progressive travel retail experience in the Philippines, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations, and was able to manage a team of 50 to 100+ staff across multiple locations. Strong track record in P&L management, Revenue growth, and Operational Excellence . Strong leadership presence with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and people development skills. Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Working knowledge of retail technologies including POS, ERP, Inventory/Warehouse Management Systems, and e-commerce integration is an advantage. Willing to be based in Cebu .
