A leading Australian accounting firm needs a Tax Accountant who combines traditional expertise with AI-driven efficiency. This role offers direct client impact across individual, corporate, and SMSF tax preparation while leveraging cutting-edge tools to deliver exceptional results.
THE ROLE
You will manage end-to-end tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse client portfolio spanning individuals, companies, trusts, and self-managed superannuation funds. Your work directly influences client financial outcomes while contributing to a forward-thinking practice that embraces AI tools to enhance service delivery and process efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare comprehensive tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs with accuracy and attention to regulatory requirements
- Develop financial statements across various entity types ensuring compliance and clarity for stakeholders
- Manage BAS preparation and state tax compliance obligations for multiple clients simultaneously
- Maintain direct client relationships through professional liaison and clear communication regarding complex tax matters
- Handle ATO correspondence and craft detailed responses that protect client interests and ensure compliance
- Draft technical tax advice documents for management and partner review, demonstrating analytical thinking and regulatory knowledge
- Integrate AI tools including ChatGPT and Copilot into research workflows and process optimization to deliver enhanced client value
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Xero, XPM, and MYOB with demonstrated ability to navigate complex accounting software environments
- Intermediate level accounting experience or above with proven track record in tax preparation and compliance management
- Demonstrated AI literacy and active experience using ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar platforms for research and process enhancement
- Exceptional personal qualities including strong ethical standards, professional drive, and clear communication abilities
- Sharp attention to detail combined with independent work capabilities and strong priority management skills
- Ability to leverage AI tools strategically to improve research quality, problem-solving approaches, and operational efficiency
WORK ARRANGEMENT
This is a full work-from-home role where you will work from your own home office.
