This job description outlines responsibilities for medical services roles and the emergency response procedures within the airport environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vital signs assessment for passengers with pre-existing medical conditions upon airline request.
  • Provide airport clinic services, including medical assessments, first aid treatment for emergency and non-emergency cases, and administration of first aid medications if needed (example: wound dressing and oxygen therapy).
  • Respond to medical emergencies inside the aircraft upon landing.
  • Provide on-site First Aid & assistance to passengers, crew members, airport personnel, and individuals within the airport premises.
  • Coordinate with airlines, security and external emergency services.
  • Arrange emergency transport to a local hospital via ARFF ambulance when necessary.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports, including records of minor cases, incident reports, vital signs assessment, and inventory of medicines and medical supplies.
  • Participate in Emergency Response to EMCODE 1-12 (Airport Emergency Codes).

Emergency Response Procedures (EMCODE 1-12)

  1. Notification: The Dispatch Center informs the emergency response team.
  2. PTV Deployment: The Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) picks up the on-duty nurse(s) at the airside arrival area.
  3. PTV Standby: The PTV remains on standby and awaits further instructions.
  4. Medical Assistance: If medical service is required, the medic provides necessary medical care.
  5. Medical Coordination: Upon the doctor's arrival (from the LGU-RHU), they assume the role of medical coordinator for the medical team.
