The Audit Senior leads staff on client audit engagements, which include planning, executing, and completing financial audits.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Engagement Management — Provide input to, and work closely with, Engagement Manager in planning and scheduling work, including the preparation of estimated time budgets and staffing requirements.
  • Participate in and document the engagement planning and risk assessment meetings.
  • Develop an audit plan, in coordination with the engagement manager or partner, which includes understanding the client’s business and industry, and government regulations affecting the client.
  • Ensure that requests for necessary audit schedules and documents are sent to the client ahead of fieldwork.
  • Tailor procedures in the methodology tool in consultation with the Engagement Manager or Partner, as warranted by the client’s business practices, risks, and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervision to staff assistants and ensure proper client interaction protocol.
  • Assign responsibilities to staff assistants based on their experience and capabilities.
  • Ensure staff assistants understand their responsibilities and receive appropriate on-the-job training.
  • Perform detailed work procedures that cannot be delegated, including overall analysis of the client’s business and its effects on financial statements, and detailed analysis of critical accounts.
  • Supervise and review the work of staff assistants, including supervision during physical inventory and capital asset counts.
  • Perform preliminary reviews of financial statements, audit reports, and management letters in preparation for review by the engagement manager.
  • Ensure the planned audit work is completed to satisfy the Firm’s objectives and that workpaper standards are complied with.
  • Ensure the engagement team meets the client’s deadlines.
  • Complete cleaning up and archiving of working papers at the end of each engagement within the prescribed period.
  • Client Relations — Establish and maintain clear coordination and good working relationships with client personnel at all times.
  • Keep the client informed of significant developments in accounting standards and other areas that affect their business.
  • Make yourself available during business hours or while the engagement is ongoing for client queries and requests.
  • Provide immediate assistance and/or advice for clients’ professional needs.
  • Discuss audit issues with appropriate client personnel after seeking resolution with the engagement manager.
  • People Management — Provide timely feedback to staff assistants about performance; participate in performance reviews and development discussions after engagements.
  • Administrative Functions — Perform final quality review on the deliverables of other engagement teams when requested, in accordance with Firm quality control policies and procedures; perform other duties as delegated by the engagement manager or partner.
Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • At least three (3) years of experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm, with progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks
