Overview

Senior Backend Engineer role at BruntWork. The client seeks an experienced Backend Engineer with strong Python and Django expertise to develop robust, scalable backend services and APIs, work with AWS services, databases, caching, and ensure high-quality, secure, and efficient code.

Senior-level experience and exposure to high-availability systems is a plus.

Job Highlights
  • Hourly Rate: PHP 520
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM MNL (30-minute unpaid break)
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home

Note: This is a permanent work-from-home position with an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. Benefits and taxes are handled by the contractor. Hourly rate depends on performance in the application process.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve backend services and APIs using Python and Django
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
  • Work with AWS services (SES, SNS, Lambda, etc.) to support backend operations
  • Ensure code quality, security, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and optimize application performance
Requirements
  • Strong experience with Python and Django frameworks
  • Familiarity with AWS services and their integration with backend systems
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design
  • Experience with databases, caching, and related backend technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and communicate clearly
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior-level engineer role
  • Experience with scalable, high-availability systems
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment
  • HMO coverage (for eligible locations)
  • Permanent work-from-home arrangement
  • Immediate hiring
