This is a remote position.
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detailed Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records and ensure the financial health of the organization. The role may involve US and UK accounting knowledge depending on client needs.
Responsibilities- Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and on time.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, statements, and summaries for management review.
- Monitor and reconcile discrepancies in financial data and resolve issues that arise.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure accuracy.
- Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Provide support during audits by organizing and presenting financial documents as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role; construction industry experience is noted in some postings.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting software is a must; experience with Xero is valued in some postings.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Educational background in accounting/finance is preferred (associate or bachelor’s degree), but not always required; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience with UK accounting concepts (VAT, P&L, Balance Sheet, Depreciations) or US tax forms may be required depending on client.
