Our client, based in Australia, is a leading financial advisory firm that specializes in life insurance advice. They are subject matter experts and are able to deliver industry-leading advice to our clients. This is underpinned by their technical expertise and the experience they provide to their clients.

About the Role

As a Paraplanner, you will be working closely with the Advisors to prepare and implement financial plans for clients. Our client is seeking to train you to the point where you are an expert on insurance products as well as in preparing advice for clients. This will require strong comprehension, logical reasoning, and analytical skills. Beyond your experience, we are also looking for someone who is professional and possesses impeccable English language communication skills in both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Assist advisors in creating comprehensive financial plans for clients
  • Conduct research on insurance products, financial concepts, superannuation, and tax strategies
  • Prepare and analyze financial needs analysis reports to support the development of financial plans. These reports will form the foundation for the advice provided to clients
  • Collaborate with advisors to identify appropriate investment strategies based on client needs and goals
  • Attend client meetings with advisors to present and review financial plans
  • Work with clients to gather necessary financial information and documents
  • Understand and interpret legal documents related to insurance products
  • Manage and update client information in the company’s database

Competencies and Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience as a Paraplanner or in a similar role in the insurance industry is preferred
  • Accounting or similar experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong numerical and logical reasoning skills
  • Good with math and comfortable working with numbers
  • Familiarity with legal documents related to insurance products
  • A desire to become an expert in both insurance products and advice preparation
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially in calculations and materials prepared
  • Self-starter, has the ability to work independently and takes initiative. There are elements to your training that will be expedited if you are able to take initiative with respect to your learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
