About The Role

We announced Cloudflare Workers in 2017 — since then it has played a key role in Cloudflare’s strategy for entering the compute market. Workers has evolved from a simple functions-as-a-service option into a complete full-stack platform, creating a need to support a broader set of Runtime APIs across standards and runtimes. Cloudflare helped formWinterCG, and there is still work to grow a shared base of APIs across runtimes to push forward the ecosystem and ease the burden on open-source maintainers of supporting multiple runtimes.

What You’ll Do

• Drive the strategy and roadmap for JavaScript APIs in the Cloudflare Workers Runtime
• Lead new APIs from ideation through launch, and continuing through ongoing maintenance and support
• Guide internal and external teams on developing new JavaScript APIs in Workers, including first-party Cloudflare products and external libraries seeking to increase compatibility
• Develop and nurture key external relationships with open-source maintainers, and ensure their needs are heard and acted on
• Partner with departments such as Product Marketing, Marketing, Community & Developer Advocacy, Sales, and Customer Support to drive adoption and gather feedback from customers and prospects
• Ruthlessly prioritize across a complex environment of diverse customers, stakeholders and objectives
• Represent the company externally as needed, including meetings with customers and speaking at external events

• Proven track record of shipping developer-facing products from ideation to launch, 3+ years of professional experience
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, the NPM ecosystem, and web standards
• Developer focus — you’ll work directly with customers to help them get their initial implementation off the ground
• Strong technical abilities with modern software development practices and the ability to balance detailed work with high-level strategy
• A desire to sweat the details and ship great developer experiences
• A love for talking to developers at organizations of various sizes to build and ship products that solve real problems
