About the role Digital8 Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphics Artist & Operator with a primary focus on Character Generation (CharGen) for our live broadcasts. This role requires a strong understanding of on-air graphics workflows and the ability to create and operate CharGen systems effectively. The candidate will also possess graphic design skills to create and modify on-screen graphics as needed. Responsibilities Graphic Design and Creative Development Conceptualize and produce marketing, branding, and program materials including layouts, infographics, and visual identities. Create templates and brand-consistent elements for both internal and external projects. Develop layered artwork for video and multimedia integration. Chargen Operations and Live Graphics Handling Operate character generator (chargen) systems for live and recorded productions, inserting lower thirds, tickers, full-screen graphics, and other overlays. Coordinate with producers and technical directors during live shoots to ensure correct and timely display of graphic elements. Update real-time graphic content (names, captions, headlines) and manage preloaded assets for broadcast use. Multimedia Post-Production Support Assist in motion graphics and basic video editing using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar tools. Render and export assets in required formats for social media, web, and broadcast. Support content formatting and digital adaptation across different media channels. Asset Management and Quality Control Maintain and organize project files, design templates, and media libraries. Ensure consistency of visual output and compliance with brand standards and copyright protocols. Review final output for typographic accuracy, visual integrity, and quality assurance. Team Collaboration and Workflow Support Work closely with directors, editors, writers, and other creatives in project execution. Participate in planning and content reviews, and respond promptly to design revisions. Contribute to the development of creative solutions under tight production timelines. What we're looking for Bachelor's degree or vocational diploma in Multimedia Arts, Graphic Design, Broadcast Communications, or a related field. Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is preferred. Solid understanding of graphic design principles, typography, and color theory. Proven experience as a CharGen Operator in a live broadcast environment is preferred. Excellent technical aptitude and problem-solving skills related to broadcast graphics systems is preferred. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in real-time during live productions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work during non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for live broadcasts. #J-18808-Ljbffr
