Senior Draftsperson

The role requires a strong background in technical drafting, proficiency in SolidWorks, and a deep understanding of Australian industry standards for metal fabrication. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with design and fabrication teams to produce manufacturing‑ready drawings and contribute to technical solutions across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate drafting plans using SolidWorks based on design models Collaborate with internal design and fabrication teams to translate concepts into comprehensive, manufacturing‑ready drawings Ensure drafting outputs comply with relevant Australian standards and industry best practices Provide technical drafting expertise to meet internal quality requirements Assist in the preparation of fabrication and installation documentation Troubleshoot advanced drafting issues and contribute to practical design solutions Undertake ad hoc CAD or drafting tasks to support other areas of the business as required Required Competencies Proven experience in producing accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings Solid understanding of fabrication processes and workshop requirements Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage drafting workload independently and meet deadlines Qualifications Minimum of 7 years drafting experience, with experience in manufacturing—particularly metal fabrication of screens, gates, balustrades, etc. Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks Strong technical documentation, plan development, and 3D modelling skills Thorough understanding of Australian standards applicable to metal fabrication Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines Strong collaboration and communication skills within internal teams Benefits Remuneration commensurate with experience Day shifts with a normal professional work week (8 hours per day, 5 days per week, Saturday and Sunday off) Predominately work from home with team meetups Occasional domestic travel #J-18808-Ljbffr
