Computer Programmer

Overview

The Computer Programmer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and systems, troubleshooting software issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, automating tasks and processes, and staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Holds bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Is a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church in a good standing.
• Solid experience in object-oriented PHP development, with knowledge of the Laravel framework.
• Strong SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL, including expertise in stored procedures and trigger mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Git and Docker. Familiarity with Linux, Ansible or other automation tools is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Required Work Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in programming or related fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain software applications and systems using programming languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or others as needed.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including webmaster, server manager, and IT director, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Automate tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Director.

Remuneration

Remuneration will be according to the denominational wage scale at AIIAS considering educational qualifications, professional experience, and years of service.
