As a DevOps Engineer within Asurion’s Platform Engineering team, you will be responsible for the developing, supporting, and innovating against our Enterprise Tools which is a composed of development, authentication and system health platform.

The daily activities will include ensuring that all products are available and providing the expected service. Troubleshooting issues that may arise. Identify process improvement opportunities. Applying, encouraging and shaping enterprise best practices in the Platform Engineering space. Mentoring other engineers and leading projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer, optimize and support existing Platforms
• Enhance, simplify, streamline processes and expand capabilities of managed Platforms
• Automate administration, deployment, reporting and other operational procedures including but not limited to request fulfilment, deployments and system patching.
• Governance of SaaS platforms that the team owns
• Develop components using AWS, Azure and/or other cloud technologies
• Install and configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, and perform script maintenance and updates
• Continually drive automation and efficiencies to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Document and present solution designs/approaches to supervisors and other members of the team.

• Learn and identify new technologies and related tools to adopt to grow the agile development environment
• Be flexible in to participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays
• Research and customize implementation of open-source tools for monitoring end to end solutions
• Develop automations to minimize manual and repetitive work in the team
• Implement self-service capabilities

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in implementing and/or managing any of the following tools:
  • Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace, BigPanda, AWS CloudWatch, PRTG, SCOM
  • DevOps Tools: Artifactory, Jira, GitHub, Confluence
• 5+ years working experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters
• Experience in Git and GitHub workflows
• Advanced problem-solving skills and support background on service and system reliability and availability.
• Working knowledge of a modern programming language (NodeJS, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go etc)
• Working knowledge of Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP and Azure) and architecture
• Experience with DevOps Tools like Terraform, Serverless, CI/CD, Containers
• Experience in Solutions Architecture type of work
• Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Junior engineers (Subject Matter Experts)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
