Senior Full Stack Engineer

The opportunity

We\'re looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Customer Tribe, which builds and maintains the core applications that serve millions of customers every day on one of Australia\'s largest e-commerce platforms.

This is a hands-on, highly technical role where you\'ll work in a fast-paced environment alongside a talented squad of engineers, a product manager, a QA engineer, and a designer. You\'ll be a key contributor to our customer-facing systems, from the website and app to our critical communication channels.

• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from designing and building robust solutions to deploying and monitoring them in production.
• Tackle complex technical challenges with a high degree of autonomy, bringing innovative and "outside-the-box" solutions to the team.
• Collaborate closely with your squad to define technical requirements and architect scalable, high-performance systems.
• Write clean, well-tested code in our primary stack, while also maintaining and modernizing our legacy applications.
• Instill a culture of strong ownership and accountability for the software you build.
• Be a champion for the customer experience, ensuring that every technical decision you make has a positive impact on the end user.
• Understand the critical role of monitoring and observability and ensure our applications are well-instrumented.

• Significant hands-on experience in full stack software engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable and resilient applications.
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with backend experience in NestJS and Java.
• Good understanding of testing frameworks like Jest, as well as performance testing and E2E testing.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, ideally with Google Cloud (GCP) or AWS.
• Proven knowledge of software architecture and best practices for building cloud-native applications.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and an understanding of how to automate and improve deployment processes.
• A solid understanding of monitoring, observability, and the tools used to ensure application health and performance.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
