As an Australian digital growth agency, we work across SEO, Paid Media, Web Experience, and Analytics — and we’re looking for a Senior SEO Strategist who can own, deliver, and optimise campaigns end-to-end. This is a remote-only role , open to candidates who are ready to take strategic ownership, think critically, and grow with a team that values curiosity and excellence. What You’ll Do Build and execute SEO strategies from start to finish — research, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Conduct detailed audits across technical , on-page , content , local , and off-page SEO to uncover and prioritise opportunities. Collaborate with the Head of SEO Strategy to refine deliverables in line with EngineRoom’s frameworks and quality standards. Develop data-driven roadmaps that connect SEO activity directly to business goals, budgets, and timelines. Present clear strategies, performance reports, and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and clients. Translate insights from GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, Semrush, and Screaming Frog into actionable strategies. Monitor results, identify trends, and adjust tactics to improve rankings, traffic, and ROI. Stay ahead of LLM-driven search evolution, applying AI-assisted optimisation (AIO) practices to strengthen content visibility and performance. Uphold ethical, white-hat SEO practices that reflect EngineRoom’s commitment to sustainable growth. What You’ll Bring Proven experience owning SEO campaigns end-to-end within an agency environment. Advanced working knowledge across: Technical SEO: Crawling, indexing, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, and canonicalisation. On-page SEO: Keyword mapping, EEAT audits, content gap analysis, metadata, and internal linking. Local SEO: NAP consistency, Google Business Profile optimisation, and local ranking factors. Off-page SEO: Link profile analysis and ethical link acquisition. Analytics: Skilled in GA4, GSC, and competitive tracking using Ahrefs or Semrush. Exceptional communication — fluent written and spoken English, with strong grammar, clarity, and tone in client communications. A performance-driven mindset — you use data to guide decisions, test hypotheses, and improve measurable results. Accountability and ownership — you take responsibility for outcomes and communicate transparently. High adaptability — you respond to change with curiosity and initiative, especially as search and AI evolve. Organisational discipline — you manage multiple projects and deadlines using Monday.com. Commitment to collaboration — you work independently but thrive in partnership with cross-functional teams. Nice to Have Experience working with Australian or international agency clients. Familiarity with AI optimisation tools or prompt engineering for SEO workflows. Exposure to CRO or UX-led SEO strategies. Experience mentoring or guiding junior SEO team members.
