The OpportunityWorking closely with the Group and Portfolio business and collaborating with the Portfolio Finance Business Partners in developing, delivering, evaluating and operationalizing the overall sub-region and Portfolio strategy. Challenge and influence the Group leadership in growing their respective market share within the addressable market. Includes a blend of strategic advisory, financial oversight, and business collaboration at the country level. This role acts as the key liaison between country operations and regional/global finance teams, ensuring alignment of Arup’s financial goals with business strategy.
Your role in our team- Act as a trusted, visible and accessible point of contact to Manila Group Leader and Business leaders, providing financial and commercial decision support.
- Lead the Annual Business Plan (ABP) and forecasting process within the Group with realistic forecasts, key assumptions, and scenarios including risks, opportunities and trade-offs.
- Implement forward-looking executive reports, insights, metrics and exception reports to support decision making, optimize performance and drive long-term growth; share key information from exec reports with Regional Finance.
- Develop action plans on monthly and quarterly results with the Group Leadership Team where results are not in line with expectations; present options on income, profitability, margins and KPI trends.
- Challenge the status quo; promote continuous improvement, standardization and simplification; collaborate with Finance Operations, SSC, Regional Finance and Global Finance.
- Provide training to finance and non-finance staff on financial matters when applicable.
- Participate in bid reviews (where applicable) and support Group leaders with financial contract advice.
- Responsible for planned project outcomes; set standards and quality checks for team deliverables; link detail to big-picture implications.
- Identify, establish, monitor and nurture key relationships – internal and external; contribute to internal client relations; communicate confidently to varied audiences; adapt style as needed.
- Support change and seek creative, innovative solutions; understand and apply Arup values; work with minimal supervision from more senior colleagues; plan continuing professional development.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 1 year in both managerial and post-qualified roles within a sizable corporation or MNC. Experience with Big 4 firms and hands-on experience in SEA/APAC countries is a plus.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent such as CIMA, ACCA) desirable; confident, capable and credible with effective communication and influencing skills with peers and senior colleagues.
- Strong leadership, decisive action, and ability to bring people on the journey.
- Team player with positive, proactive attitude, solution-oriented and goal-driven; agile and adaptable to change; consultative and collaborative.
- Confident in challenging existing processes and status quo; able to build lasting relationships with business leaders and managers.
- Technically competent with awareness of accounting, controls and governance, audit, ethics and risk management; IT literate (Microsoft, finance systems, Power BI desired).
