The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing the daily activities of the Distribution & Logistics operations, including workforce scheduling and the proper handling of delivery concerns. Responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered at the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way. Strong organizational and time management abilities, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and clear communication are crucial for this role. Responsibilities Supervise a team of distribution and logistics associates, drivers and helpers, providing clear instructions, training, and performance feedback. Ensure a safe and positive work environment, enforcing all safety protocols and procedures. Motivate and empower team members to achieve high productivity and accuracy goals. Keep track of quality, quantity, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency. Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues. Negotiate service level agreements, transportation rates or services from 3PL providers. Direct outbound logistics operations, including transportation, safety performance, and logistics quality management. Strategize cost-reducing tactics and efficiency improvements; plan and manage delivery routes. Analyze cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies; recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency. Ensure carrier compliance with mandated law and company policies for product transit; oversee fleet management to maintain vehicle roadworthiness. Establish and monitor supply chain performance measurement systems; maintain metrics, reports, process documentation and training or safety records.
